Following the death of Rep. A. Donald McEachin, who passed away shortly after his re-election in November, Virginia announced a Special Election on February 21, 2023 to fill the remainder of the term for the vacant seat in the 4th Congressional District. Democrats in Virginia will hold a "firehouse primary" — a primary run by a political party rather than a government entity — on December 20, 2022 to select their candidate in advance of the December 23rd deadline. #iamavoter
