Here are some fun @BFA images from last night’s @NYPL Library Lions Gala, which I attended as the guest of @montblanc. Some of my own photos, as well.
But I have a lot to say today!
I need to thank everyone for your kindness, patience, and support this year. After the fire. When we were without our home. Before, during, and after the birth of Hugo Corda-Graver.
For me, my fortieth year will always be the one when Hugo was born.
The year I became EIC of @surfacemag.
The year that our apartment building caught fire, the vacate mandate, and the dizzying sense of displacement.
The year that @alexandrecorda’s company merged with Dada Goldberg.
I traveled less than previous years—but we had our baby moon at @lesirenuse. I took a helicopter to Saint-Tropez for lunch with @thegabbymartinez. Our car broke down in Lake Como before Milan Design Week. I finally saw the Niterói Contemporary Art Museum outside of Rio. And I went to Warsaw to see @maria_kozak, @rafalwielgus, and @jeffreykeefe.
I attended the @dorsia dinner at The Twenty Two in London with @serpentineuk! That was quite spectacular. As was our baby shower, and the Tony Awards!
I moved back to Manhattan for the first time since November 2019—to Chelsea, but only for a month! This will always be the year that I moved to Fort Greene, as well…where Alex and I have always wanted to live. It was also for only a month or two! To be honest, I can’t quite recall. It’s been that sort of year.
Things feel different now. Hugo turns four weeks old today. Even though I haven’t settled into the title of dad, everything I do is now filtered through the lens of fatherhood. This is a quiet birthday, but, as ever, I am happy.
