my mom’s life is a miracle. a premature baby born at home, surviving against the odds. this year we celebrated her in the midst of grief. preparing our hearts to say goodbye to the woman who gave life to that miracle. with the time we have left, surrounding her with love and the blessing she left for us all: music. my matriarchal lineage, powerful. they all survived through so much. I get to break curses for these women. I get to live out dreams for these women. Grief is complicated, but I know generational healing is happening. I’m going to be taking time to prioritize my family and my spirit during this season. Keeping my current commitments to the best of my ability, but intentionally slowing down for the foreseeable future. Visit your elders if you can. Hug your loved ones tighter. 🫂🦋
