I'm the queen of my own world, and I slay. Today, on this Monday, we're gathered here to celebrate two things. My birthday and this amazing set with one of my very good friends in the charismatic, hard serving, sassy, bestie that is Melanie. This was an idea that I wanted to capture, and Melanie has been one of my go-to models for ideas that I've had lingering around on my pinterest boards. I wanted to do a holographic outfit with some colored lighting to create a moody but colorful finished piece. Of course, because it's Melanie, I had to include our third musketeer, the amazing Hannah Marie, to do the makeup. Finally, Hannah was able to find someone to do Melanie's hair a certain way that I felt added to her look. I'm super happy with this shoot, and the way it turned out and doing more and more shoots with a full team has been amazing. Now today, as I stated above, we are also celebrating my birthday, which I'll admit I've neglected for years. It's been just another day on the calendar for me, and I haven't done anything meaningful with a group of people in years. In fact, this will officially be the quietest birthday I've ever had. That being said, I'd like to say that for once, I feel seen, heard, and probably more loved than I've ever felt in years. I've met so many people this year and I gotta say some of the bonds and relationships I've built, strengthened, and continue to cultivate like with Melanie and so many other models and creatives has been uplifting in a year I've buried myself in work. I've gotten to shoot two fashion shows, shoot some cool projects, laugh, travel, and most importantly, feel like what I do matters with the people I do it with. So thank you to all of you who keep me in your thoughts, hearts, and lives. Here's to many more....
