40 lbs./18.2 kg. Reverse Hyper Row - age 54, November 14, 2022, 8:17 am 🌺CAUTION: THIS VIDEO IS FOR DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS EXERCISE CAN BE DANGEROUS. This exercise feels great. It sounds strange, but it feels like squeezing your body into a backwards fist. I do this when I feel unstable and segmented in my core and there is tightness and pain in my hips or back. Sandbags are excellent for making simple but specialized exercise platforms like this one. -They can level the grade of the walkway I train on. -They’re more stable than rocks. -They’re soft enough to comfortably support my hips or my ass. The goal on this exercise is not to lift heavy or build my back. The goal is to make sure the highest point of the dumbbell row and the reverse hyperextension exercises occurs at the same time. I need to find a balance point on the stack of bags that allows me to focus on extending the chest upwards and not yielding this position to the dumbbells as I use the pulling of my elbows towards the sky to anchor and accelerate an open chain hip extension. This exercise also reciprocally trains the tight pecs, abs, and hip flexors to relax and not inhibit the efforts of the shoulder retractors and spinal and hip extensors.
