I’ve been reflecting a lot on my business, my approach, which direction I want to take it, everything. Five years in, and over 100 weddings later, I want to make sure that I always am intentional with my work and my couples. One thing I’ve learned, is that my relationship with my couples and clients is always at the heart of what I do. Sure, pretty pictures are a given, but learning about my brides and grooms, their stories, what lights them up, and what doesn’t, is what drives me. There’s so much psychology that goes into photography (well, good photography), and it’s easily overlooked how much more there is that goes into photography, and especially weddings, that’s beyond snapping a photo. I love working with all kinds of couples and making them feel comfortable in front of the camera, and that truly means meeting them where they are at, putting my ego aside, and capturing them and their story in a way that’s authentic to them. So when I got the chance to meet Jamie + Ryan, they made it clear that they wanted the focus of their day to be on everyone else, an uncommon request, even for those that are a little camera shy. But that’s what we did. I made sure to focus on Jamie + Ryan of course, but also on their friends + family, many of who had come together for the first time since the pandemic, on the little moments between people, on the beautiful surroundings of the grounds of @glynwoodevents (which I’ll honestly never be over). With the help of this killer team, despite the 95 degree temps and threatening rainstorms, the day was filled with so much love and I think we nailed it! I sent off Jamie + Ryan’s sneak peek gallery last week, and honestly there are so many great shots, I can’t wait to share all of them! Here’s a little glimpse at their celebration! Congrats Ryan + Jamie! Thanks for letting me capture it all!
