Getting back to platinum hair after being brunette is NOT easy. I do not want anyone to make the assumption that this done without risk. I went into this knowing that I would have to be cutting a good amount of hair off after all is said and done(which lets be honest, I’m totally going to cut it anyway🤣).
No matter how many amazing products you use, you will always have some sort of damage when bleaching so please be mindful and assume the risk before doing so!
Another reason I went so short in the back was because the hair was much lighter and even at the root so I figured I’d like to keep the color as even as possible. Please read on for directions and products I used:
@malibucpro DDL XL direct dye lifter
I used this with a Vol 10 to remove as much demi permanent color as possible from the previously colored hair. Processed for 20 min
@k18hair Molecular Repair Hair Mist was sprayed before application, then again before bleach application. I used their new PH Balance Shampoo and then applied the Hair mask after each wash as well. (Must have products when doing these processes!)
@wellacolorcharm Powder Lightener mixed with 20 vol left for 50 min
Toned with T18 + 2 capfuls of 050 and let process for 20 minutes.
The only process not pictured was a second bleach that was diluted with a clear shampoo and water to remove a bit more stubborn orange.
It’s going to be hair masks and treatments galore in the next few weeks but man am I happy to be a blonde again 😍
Don’t come @ me for my technique and process! The end result is beautiful.
