I am sure most of you know, but for those of you who do not, this is Buff - John Buffery - the safety wrangler. He has taught me everything I know about the backcountry and is probably the only person I would put full trust in to keep me safe in the mountains. It feels like a true honour to be able to learn from him in all aspects of life. Buff is also known to wear many hats, literally and figuratively. In addition to many other odd jobs, he currently works for the government implementing risk management policies for our province, all while having huge impact on the snow community, teaching, guiding, mentoring, etc. Most recently, Buff’s has decided to run for mayor in our sweet town of Nelson, an idea he has been talking about for at least a decade. I would like to encourage any of you residing in Nelson to get out to vote tomorrow and consider Buff as your candidate of choice. Buff’s extensive knowledge and experience will be a benefit for our town. I am confident that he is committed and will be a dedicated leader with our community’s best interest in mind. Proud of you @jbuffery , Nelson would be lucky to have you as mayor.
