The results show that juniors at Goldman Sachs are logging an average of 98 hours per week, despite calls for change and a decrease in deal volumes. That’s 18 hours more than the survey average of 80 hours per week and the same amount that juniors were working in 2021, leading to a revolt and promises from CEO David Solomon to address the issue. Based on a calculation of two weeks vacation and not including bonuses, this means that Goldman Sachs is paying its junior talent about the same as a Starbucks manager - around $22 per hour.
