Every time I introduce myself to anyone, the usual questions I get about my name are......⠀ “Is it like the Hurricane?”⠀ “Wait, how do you spell that?”⠀ “OMG are you from New Orleans?”⠀ “Why don’t you change your name?”⠀ I’ve actually thought about changing my name to make it easier for the general public to be able to find me on social media much quicker. Also, since so many people believe my name to be spelled with a K, I thought “well why not? Let’s change it” but then I realized why I got this name in the first place. This name represents more than just a name. It represents my culture, my heritage, and my beautiful land of Mexico. Catrina derives from the lady Catrina from the Day Of The Dead. Ever since I had the thought of doing drag I knew for a fact that I wanted to include my Mexican heritage.
