Hi everyone. We wanted to do a personal post which we don’t often do as this platform is not for that for us, but after a tough many months we feel that we need to share with y’all... As many of you know we have been working with Margate Pride as part of the committee for the past couple years, helping to create the festival and a year round program of community events for our town. We have made the decision to take a step back from doing this work. This is due to many things, but massively because our mental health is not doing well. The stress and pressure of trying to run so many events and community spaces has been immense and between things going wrong, not having enough time or money to sustain and the quite relentless criticisms of the work, we need to make some changes for our future. We are going to be taking a break from this platform for a little while too as it has been negatively affecting our mental wellbeing. We will try to share about gigs we have coming up as much as we can but we won’t be available to contact via instagram and won’t be using it much. If you would like to contact us or tell us about your shows and events you can get in touch via our website which is in our bio. Instagram is no longer a space we are contactable on. We will be starting a mailing list when we have the capacity to do so, so if youre interested send us your email! All this being said, we are going through it a little at the moment so if you see us around please dont give us your feedback on Pride, there are official channels set up for this that you can use. It is much more productive than off loading on members of the team when you see them :) Also in general please don't try to get booked for events we are running when we are out and about. You can contact us through our website for this sort of thing. We just need some time to be people again without everything feeling like work and trying to solve all of the problems of the world!!
