Ya girl just got her white coat from THE Meharry Medical College Friday! All Glory Be To God!! 😩🙌🏾 My life totally changed in a matter of days bc I had less than a week to move to Nashville after finding out I got accepted. It was definitely a struggle getting here (😵‍💫) but my family, friends, &’ classmates really held me down. It truly takes a village. 🫶🏾🥲 This has been a loooong and challenging journey for me, but something I’ve wanted since I was a kid. I’ve had so many moments of self doubt but I never let it keep me down. I started working at UAB Hospital in the kitchen, then as a Patient Care Tech for 3 years, &’ now I’m a part of the 1.4% chosen to be a student doctor at MMC this year. Class of 2026!! WOW!! Everything that I’ve endured thus far was all worth it &’ has prepared me for this very moment. 🤍 Don’t let anyone tell you “no” or try to tell you what you cannot do! Most importantly, don’t stand in your own way. What’s meant for you is for YOU &’ no one can stand in the way of that. Believe in yourself! Hard work eventually pays off, so keep going! I want to also give a s/o to the #1 person in my life, my mom. Y’all know I love my mama!!! As a first generation being raised by a single mother, we struggled A LOT but my mom always made sure her daughter was taken care of. Thanks for ALWAYS being here for me &’ instilling in me that I could do ANYTHING I set my mind to.
