Halo Kaya Perez-Gallardo for @officemagazinenyc with Gilian Rappaport. I’m so excited to have this cozy project out in the world from a chilly fall day last year with warm slices of pie from Halo’s abuela and a magical chat at Halo’s home with Gil. I invited Gil up to Hudson for my shoot with Halo, chef and co-founder of @lildebsoasis, to help interview interview them about what makes a queer home. Gil, a queer writer and artist who also works with food and social practice, transformed our photo day with Halo into a special collaboration by the three of us together.
