163 pages on Venice street culture. My dad got me into surfing, skating, and it’s music at a young age. I remember going through boxes of CDs and finding Black Sabbath, Hendrix, Sublime, Bad Religion, Sound Garden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and whatever else. (Side note he used to swear he was at the party from the intro of “Bad Fish” by Sublime hahaha). But anyways, I say all of this because it informed the way I see the world. From the clothes, cars, tattoos, hair, etc. and Venice always represented the epitome of it all. Fast Forward 15 years later I surf Venice a few times a week not because it’s the best break but because of the unique culture that surrounds the boardwalk. California beaches almost always feel like they’re reserved for the wealthy upper class but not this one. Its’s bohemian lifestyle still captivates me to this day. So I created this book in hopes of communicating those messages. Soon there will be a free zine with all of these images but the hard cover book is for the ones who appreciate the art and can support it. Peace and Love
