People struggle with Calathea because they think "proper care" means every leaf will remain perfect forever - this is a recipe for inevitable disappointment. - After owning a Calathea orbifolia for over 2 years, I've come to see that each individual leaf stays nice for a few months, up to a year, and eventually gets brown edges and turns yellow and retires. - By the time this happens, the plant has pushed out more new leaves, which are actively working for the plant. - Looking at leaves as having an active service time, which naturally comes to an end (retirement) is more helpful than thinking every leaf dying is an indication that something is wrong. - #houseplantjournal #Calathea #calatheaorbifolia #newleaf #newgrowth #plantlife
