“I'll dance, dance, dance With my hands, hands, hands Above my head, head, head...” Do the jump-yip! To perform a jump-yip, quickly raise your chest to an upright posture, bending so far back that it almost propels you off the ground (this is the “jump” part). If you land on your backside, that’s okay. Try again. Alright, jump up and raise your arms up in the air as high as they’ll go, within reason, don’t pull anything, you’ve already fallen once, while emitting a high-pitched “wee-oo” call (the “yip” part). Now you got it! This dance is great for keeping watch from your burrow, defending territory, meeting other prairie dogs, and office holiday parties.
