CCC. From a sporting perspective it has been a tough year with long COVID leaving me with many questions and disappointments in the first half of the year. Finally with the all clear we pushed hard to get the form in place to do a do a good CCC. The thing with sport is that even when you prepare your best so many things can happen on the day, which for me yesterday meant cramping hamstrings from about km 30, something very unusual for me. It was a pretty apparent plan A of a 12ish hour finish was out of the question and it was onto plan B, get through the day, even if I have to walk all the way to the finish I told myself. Crossing that line was the deepest I have had to dig into to he pain cave for some time now but getting there was pure emotion. Sport to me is always a reflection of life itself, full of amazing days and incredibly difficult ones but most importantly to embrace both as they make us who we are.
