Tangaliya weaving is practiced by the Dangasiya community in Surendranagar & Kachchh in Gujarat. This delicate craft of weaving beads ‘dana’ on the loom is one of a kind, and that is what makes it so special. A small strand of thread is twisted around a single warp yarn to form a bead. The raised texture of these woven beads lend a beautiful tactile and visual quality to the textile. Tangaliya weavers have been inspired by the natural beauty around them and translated these into motifs.
