Some of the most formative albums of my childhood are by @gloriaestefan ... first, “Mi Tierra” and also her covers album “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me” — and if you went to grammar school with me, it’s likely you performed with me in a talent show performance number to her absolutely stellar rendition of “Turn The Beat Around” — in which we featured a flute and multiple styles of jazz/tap dancing... which is pretty creative for kids if you ask me but I digress lol But with these two albums @gloriaestefan taught me to see myself as a little Puerto Rican girl who wanted to understand her culture, but whose family lost the language in a longing to assimilate as Nuyoricans. So it was truly a thrill to spend 45 minutes talking about all this in more with the living iconic herself as she steps into her first leading role in @hbomax Father of the Bride!! Thank you @gloriaestefan !! These pictures and our interview are a true testimony to her talent and her grace which has allowed her to remain a fixture in Hollywood for so many decades.
