50m Commonwealth Champion 🏆 The past few months have been an incredible challenge, probably one of the hardest times I’ve ever had in sport. Illness, injury and inconsistency in training have constantly pushed me down but every single time I chose to get up and fight, even though I knew my body was no where near my best. I’m an immensely proud person and when I can’t get the results I think I deserve I feel like I’ve let everybody down, most importantly the people who follow and support me on my journey. It took a whole lot of courage and balls to come back and fight for the 50m, I could’ve just easily let life pass me by and gone home. It was the only title I hadn’t won in my career and this games was high likely to be my last commonwealths. The love for the sport just hasn’t been the same the past 2 years; mainly down to burn out and fatigue. I feel a spark and a hunger inside me that I haven’t felt in a long time. Thank you to the people who were there for me after my 100m and picked me up, you know who you are. I’m ready to take a proper rest, let my mind and body heal then come back stronger than I ever have in September. See you next season.
