It’s been a long time since I’ve properly introduced myself and new family pictures feel like a great time to remedy that! I’m Julie, but you can call me Jules, Juge, your Internet Big Sis, or, you know, That Julie Girl. I’m a 45 year old mom of 6 kids and have been married to my husband for 22 years. I love being a mom and wife. AND, I’ve learned that when I value myself as a whole person *outside* of those roles, I’m much better at being the mom + wife I want to be. Style is an important part of that process for me and can be for you, too. It’s low stakes. It’s a simple way to tell your brain you matter. It helps you question old beliefs and embrace new ideas. And it’s FUN! In everything I create, I strive to uphold these core values: • To create content that will have true value in your real life, whether you ever shop from a link I share or not. • To create content that will help you rethink the narrative we were raised with - the one that suggests that the goal of clothing is to “flatter” or to “minimize” or “elongate” or otherwise perpetuate the idea that to be worthy, we must be small. I am dedicated to helping you rethink style and embrace the many ways you can use it to express yourself. And that clothes don’t need to be “flattering” to be worth wearing. • To help you create a closet that serves YOU. Sometimes that will mean spending more on basic pieces that will give new life to the things you already have. Other times, it will mean adding a fresh, inexpensive item to make your basics feel fun again. And yet other times, that will mean challenging yourself to not spend at all, and creatively use what you already have, instead. Instead of “save vs splurge” content, I hope to help you learn how to spend BETTER (and keep learning it myself)! • To always be MYSELF- flaws AND strengths, so that you’ll feel safe to be your whole self here, too.
