This is Part 1 of how the ‘Global’ Climate Crisis is white supremacy in action. _ 🔪 With the recent flooding in Bangladesh, Pakistan and India and the SILENCE OF YT ENVIRONMENTALISTS IN THE GLOBAL NORTH it doesn’t take much to see goray showing their true colours by not giving a d*mn about Black and Brown lives in the Global South. But yes pls tell me how Kim K’s new skincare packaging line is bad for the environment Becky. 🔪 If yt ppl are not willing to first and always acknowledge that THEY DID THIS and it is not on Black n Brown ppl to show any remote form of community or support towards them cos we do not owe them anything then y’all are using your ‘environmentalism’ to be neocolonisers. (More on that in part 2) 🔪 This doesn’t need to be said but just in case when we speak on the ‘Global North’ we’re focusing on yt ppl and ytness. Not BIPOC/BAME. Yt ppl are the ones with institutional and authoritative power in coloniser countries(and the world in general). The term Global Coloniser North refers to them and only them. Black and Brown ppl in the Global North are disproportionately harmed by climate change compared to yt ppl too.
