✨Educate girls for climate justice✨ Scenes from today's @fridaysforfuture.stockholm strike where movements came together — for climate justice, for girls’ education, for Afghan girls’ right to learn. So many of the issues young people are fighting for are interconnected. Coming together only makes our calls louder and stronger. - Climate-related disasters around the world are disproportionately making it harder for girls to learn. But right now, I am most concerned about girls in Afghanistan. Afghanistan is one of the top 10 most vulnerable countries to climate change, even though it's among the lowest emitters of greenhouse gases. And it is also where the Taliban has banned Afghan women and girls from going to school. Their futures are uncertain. Their potential to call for change and innovate green solutions, squashed. Young Afghans are Fridays for Future activists too. They were organising demonstrations for climate justice and running recycling workshops. Now that important work has stopped.
