A whole year has passed since I was on @ktla5news live and it’s about time that I share this on my feed 🥲 When I first saw the email from @uniquemarkets inviting me to go on this segment, my initial reaction was sheer panic. My gut instinct was to politely decline and continue on with my day without giving it a second thought. Why would I want to turn down such a unique opportunity? A little about me: ❶︎ I love having things planned and don’t appreciate spontaneity or surprises. ❷︎ I don’t like being the center of attention and prefer staying out of the spotlight. ❸︎ I’m not comfortable being in front of the camera. ❹︎ I don’t enjoy public speaking. ❺︎ I am a perfectionist. The thought of live TV, where mistakes can’t be edited out, was terrifying. But knowing my friend Jackie @yumayo_ would be by my side eased my nerves. Despite our shared anxiety, we prepared ourselves in the best way we knew how—just to be authentically ourselves. Though I was caught off guard and stumbled over my words, I felt proud (and relieved) once it was over. This experience taught me that I can step outside my comfort zone and face my fears. No one knows my business as intimately as I do, and I realized that most people aren’t scrutinizing my every move. While it might have only resulted in a couple of sales, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I’ll cherish forever. Plus, I’ll always have this 1-minute and 21-second video to remind me of the courage it took to overcome my fears. Swipe → to watch! (I still cringe whenever I hear myself on video, so you’ll probably never get voiceover reels from me 😖)
