Happy Birthday Darling Daphne 🎈 seven today, and we are absolutely sure she’ll live until she’s 22! We decided to get Daphne as a suggestion from our vet. George had been on steroids for a year after his paralysis meningitis. He developed full “roid rage”. He would take on a Rottweiler. There was this little dog, who we had taken everywhere that became unrecognisable. The vet thought that a female puppy may help him through his issues. I rang his breeder and explained the situation, and that I needed a little girl that was quite sure of herself. She told me she had the “perfect bitch” who was only 8 weeks old but had to eat with the adults dogs because she was quite vicious. Great, I’ll take her! The breeder gave a disclaimer; that “she’s very unfortunate looking and not of quality temperament”. The day she arrived home, Kieran held her in his arms, we were terrified of George’s reaction. On the floor he growled and barked, and she growled and barked right back. She put him in his place and within a few weeks George was back to his old self again. It was a miracle. She not only cured our first baby, but she turned into my dearest friend, my constant companion, the heartbeat at my feet ... She may be tiny, but she’s a force! She breaks up toddler fights better than I do. She’s fiercely protective of her family, especially her babies ❤️ We love her so much and we can’t quite believe that we’ve put up with her yapping these last #7 years!
