On my way home from a super quick trip to the west coast to celebrate @susanleewrites’s WONDERFUL debut YA novel Seoulmates. I also got to spend time with some of my dearest and got to meet and make new friends...and got lots of books!❤️ Having known Susan for a looooooong time expected her to show out 😂 of course she blew all my expectations out of the water. Her generosity is unmatched as is her ability to plan and bring people together. 👑 It was beautiful to be in the room and experience the joy and love she has from her writing community. 💚 It was so special to feel the love for Susan, her work, and her heart. ❤️ It was also so moving to hear her speak of what writing Seoulmates meant to her and in the ways exploring her characters’ on journeys help her make way in her own. Yes, yes we talk about #representationmatters all the time...But the thing is, reading it, writing it, matters not just because it should be there it heals us, it brings us joy, sometimes it helps us find ourselves.
