•Colorado Elk Hunt 2022• • The past week we have been in the mountains camping, backpacking, scouting, hunting for elk. We had over the counter elk tags. Our team consisted of 2 women (@dayna_monroe + I) and 3 men (@jeremiah_blackbeard + @nickroushphoto + Braden). • Let me tell you, hunting is not easy, esp archery 🏹. We put in miles each day, came across all the signs, when we got close we got winded. These animals are super smart. Each animal has heightened senses. Think about it, we live in their world! Lol. And they live each day living on survival mode. They are pretty insanely intelligent. I have also witnessed this with the javelina in AZ! Haha. But the Colorado terrain is diverse and rugged! This was fun and demanding! @dayna_monroe and I kept reminding each other, “this is why we remain active! This is why we workout!” To be able to confidently walk these lands and have the endurance to continue up and down the mountains, over deadfalls, through swamps, rain, thunderstorms, cold temps, sunshine, night hiking, winds, with the loads of our packs too! Although we did not get to harvest, I am walking away with more experience, courage, determination, inspiration, and friendships. • I want to thank you immensely @jeremiah_blackbeard & @warpartymovement for sponsoring me and most importantly, believing in me!! Their way of life. Their respect for the lands and animals. Praying, offering, and keeping their families fed and safe. They are my true leaders, warriors!
