I used to hate winter (I mean Hate)…until I woke up to the fact that it wasn’t going anywhere. It’s wild to me how many years I spent hating something I couldn’t change, since I certainly wasn’t changing the city I live in (ny or nowhere energy). Once I changed the way I started looking at colder climates, EVERYTHING changed. I now focus on all the things I love about this season. Yes, it gets darker earlier with daylight savings but what a gift to wind your day down sooner since the circadian rhythm of your body is literally thinking “lights out” as soon as the sun goes down anyway. So now, I focus my energy on going inward in the wintertime and doing all the things I geek out about like some contrast therapy. I look at this time as an opportunity to put my head down & quietly build within myself. Go deeper during my meditations, move my body consciously & consistently af. I put my legs up the wall earlier every night and an early bedtime at this point in my life is music to my ears. One thing I refuse to do anymore is complain about circumstances I can’t change, like…The Weather. When you start to pay attention to what you like (long cold walks in nyc really do it for me now - insert Noble), it’s pretty incredible how that energy shift attracts more abundance in all areas of your life.
