With a full heart, here are some of my favorite moments of “Topographic Entity” coming to life on stage 🌟 What makes “Topographic Entity” so special is the 8 month process of its creation. I approached choreography in a new way, I allowed my process to be driven by thoughtful conversation on climate change and our environment. Though the extra unique part of the process— setting the entire piece over 6 zoom rehearsals with an international cast of dancers. What a joyful realization that something so wonderful has come out of the pandemic. The most magical moment was stepping into the studio for the first time in person. I said “okay let’s just try and walk it from the top,” unsure of whether or not my movement direction had translated over zoom. But everything pieced together seamlessly, all thanks to my cast of dancers who trusted my process and dedicated themselves each step of the way. Turning my work over to them and seeing it on stage for the first time brought the hugest smile to my face. I will be reflecting on this incredibly special experience for a long, long time. 💙
