🚨Update / Relaunch🚨 I want to thank you all for the outpour of love and support. I could’ve never imagined any of this and to be honest, I’m a bit overwhelmed. My goal was simply to get answers where I couldn’t find any. This is far bigger than me, a copyright or a trademark, as many people try to use to justify blatant wrongdoing. It’s about humanity, morals, abuse of power and the rich constantly profiting off of those with less. It’s about artists, particularly artists of color, and their work being exploited rather than being hired, brought on as partners, or being aided in their growth. Years ago, if I was approached by @Balenciaga offering any of this, I’m sure I would’ve considered it, but that didn’t happen. I’m not gonna lie, this shit hurts, but it also serves as an opportunity to use my voice to speak up for other creators that also know this feeling. I made it clear prior to going public I had no intention of pushing my brand. I even set my inventory to “Sold Out’ when someone found the site and placed an order. Hundreds of comments, DMs and emails poured in from people asking to restock so they could show solidarity, but I still decided against it. Even if I wanted to, I was in no position to meet the demand. This is a major issue that many small brands also know. We don’t have the money and resources that @balenciaga has. We just have the culture they need. In the midst of all this @activelyblack , a Black Owned premium athleisure brand, reached out. The founder, my brother @l.smith23 , convinced me that I could fight back and have a much greater impact if I were to sell my design and allow the people to show love. @activelyblack even offered to cover the manufacturing without asking for any of the profits! With that being said, I’ve decided to re-release the FREE Crew Neck in collaboration with Actively Black.
