This was a passion project that I started work on in March of this year. The idea developed over time taking 2-3 months to hand braid and stitch over 150 ft of braids into pieces to create 12-14 different wig configurations.... I’m a huge historian which I hope is reflected in my work over time. Because if this the concept came when, like most things in the past, I found a piece of history to be white washed as usual. A paper doll was created 100s of years ago for people of all economic classes but like most things only represented one group of people. Throughout my career I plan on taking white washed things and making them not so. Unlike brands and large corporations I’m not doing this to be profitable or popular but rather to see the world as I wanted it to be and the way it should’ve been. I CANNOT express how thankful and blessed I am to have had a team that really helped me execute this passion project to the fullest.
