I can’t remember the last time I spent any real time in the Napa/Calistoga area, but when I got out of the car and smelled all of the smells, I welled up a little. I felt my shoulders drop a few inches the minute I set foot on my native Cali soil and felt the just-perfectly-warm sun on my face and arms. Northern Californians love to hate us Angelinos and you can say all you want about the differences, but California is California. I could have been blindfolded and known where I was.
