The vast majority pose no threat to people, and in fact 96% of reported shark bites end with the victim being left alone after a single bite. About 10 people die from shark bites each year, worldwide.That makes sharks 23,600 times less deadly than drowning! These misunderstood predators play a vital role in healthy ecosystems. When predators such as sharks are removed, the small fishes they feed on can multiply out of control. These prey species consume millions of tons of plants, so their loss upsets local ecosystems and returns tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, contributing to climate change. All in all, sharks are THE COOLEST and deserve to be protected 💙🌎🦈
