The Bad Squirrel of the Week is none other than the ruthless and reckless Scout “The Kid” Debbie, the notorious outlaw of the West Rim Trail. Kid was last spotted attempting to pull off another nefarious hit and run, holding up a local day hiker for their breakfast at Scout Lookout. Eye-witness reports claim the Kid’s play was to hit hard and fast, attempting to snatch breakfast tarts, chips, and oatmeal pies in one quick sweep, straight from the backpack. It’s suspected that the Kid had a rock squirrel accomplice to act as the heavy weight behind her threats. Luckily, the Kid and her accomplice were unaware that the would-be victim was a savvy and steadfast ranger who was off duty at the time and unintimidated by her threats. Kid Debbie’s ill-fated hold-up ended with no breakfasts lost and no bite injuries sustained. When interviewed about the crime, the ranger had plenty to say about Scout “The Kid” Debbie. “See, it’s not her size that makes her such a maverick,” they said. “It’s that brashness. My gosh, it was a real frightening experience, I’ll tell ya. You’ve gotta watch those snacks. She'll rob you blind.” Don't let these good squirrels go bad - Never be an accomplice!
