I am no longer trying to hate myself into a version I love.
TW: restrictive eating
Honestly, for so many years I tried to make myself look a certain way by restricting, binging & over exercising.
I tried to shrink myself & I did succeed on a few occasions but I was SO unhappy & it just wasn’t realistic!! I wouldn’t go out to see friends, I would always bring my own food to parties or not eat at all and if I did binge, I would punish myself the next day.
Now, I live a healthy balanced life where i eat the food I want and need to nourish myself.
I do exercise that makes me feel good & take rest when I need it.
I promise you, if you are stuck in this cycle, the best thing to do is to just LET go... let go of the pressure, let go of the expectations, let go of what you think you should look like cause at the end of the day... it’s not what you look like that people will talk about in your eulogy, it’s the experiences, the memories, the laughs.
