The longer the cam or stroke (1.8 - 4 and we are dealing with mm), the farther the needle is moved back and forth as your machine is on. So if you are running a 4mm stroke machine, the needle will be moved 4mm out and 4mm in. The longer the stroke, the harder the hit or the more it packs a punch. I can work with all different strokes. I specifically like a 4mm when working on tougher lip tissue or really thick oily skin. I like a 2.5mm for delicate Nano work or working on thin, delicate skin.
