2.22.22— Serendipity! I was walking when I got that “I need a picture of this” nagging feeling so I stepped back to the curb and started flicking. To my delight, this eloquent rose strolled unthinkingly through my shot. What a stunner! It was a moment for me and this person may never know. Have I ever been someone else’s moment? On an unrelated note, I want to share a lesson about standing up for yourself that hit me a few days ago while listening to Manifest/Outro by The Fugees. I went from years of shrinking myself to speaking up at (most) every turn—I’m far from perfection but I’ve seen a lot of growth in myself. I can’t think of a better investment. ‘Twas a lesson hard learned so I’m tryna spread it...break their feet off the first time (with compassion and grace ofc) and you won’t have no problems. Trust yourself, attack the anxiety, and say exactly what you want. You don’t have to be mean or ugly to get your point across, but do be intentional and mean what you say. Anywaayyys.....here’s to elevating and increasing, reinventing and taking big leaps!!!!!! Now say “I’m that bitch/I’m that nigga” 5x over (don’t even think it if u not Black...it’s Black History til infinity!!!) 222 ✨✨✨
