Another year re-intro— Hiiii, it’s me, Shey ☺️💃🏽 I quit my 9-5 job last year, Dec 31, 2024, to pursue photography full time (so I thought)— but in reality I was called to be a full-time wife and mother first…and part-time picture taker. This has been my FIRST FULL year of doing this thing, and here’s what I’ve learned: If God isn’t at the center of any endeavor or pursuit— he will allow it to fall. And I’m speaking from the experience of running past businesses, only to see it quickly end, due to pride, self-seeking motives, idolatry, etc. Matthew 6:33 has been the promise I’ve held tightly to, from the moment I decided to leave a steady income paying job— to now, wrapping up 2025. God has provided every need, and has blessed my family and I with JUST the right amount of everything, never lacking. Stepping into the entrepreneurial world has exposed a lot of the idols in my life: the needing to know when the next paycheck is coming (control), trying to keep up with the “new”, not putting out “enough”, comparison (let’s be real)— and the antidote has always been Jesus. The biggest battlefield is the mind— but what sweetness to know Gods promises and our purpose in life, through him. It’s not the accolades, the views, the inquiries, the projects— it’s first understanding that THIS IS ALL GRACE, and I deserve the least of these. But how kind that God takes into consideration my preferences, and uses them as vessels for him. That even in my brokenness and past— he turns them all for good😭 But God— sent his son Jesus to die on that cross for our sins and make us righteous before him, allowing us to be reconciled to him for all eternity. No pain, no suffering, no sickness, no sin? One day, when this fleeting life is dust— all that matters is what we’ve done with our time and talents here on earth ,to advance the kingdom of God. So if there’s anything you get from this— it’s that there’s so much more to what meets the eye here on earth.. & there’s an eternity awaiting, and JESUS is the answer❤️ I love you guys!!!! #jesusisking #hawaiiphotographer #mauiphotographer #mauifamilyphotographer
