I have to draw the line somewhere. —————————————————————— I can’t be on camera everytime. I just can’t. The way my vibration is set up, it will not allow it. So here are my plants. After all, that is the reason why I started this account in the first place. —————————————————————— If you are about to ask me for care tips for this plant—let me stop you. Let me save us both the embarrassment. You must be new here. Because if you been rocking with me for a while, you know how much I love Calatheas...but you also know that I kill them. 😂 This Dottie is making a comeback that’s for sure, but it’s due in large part to the fact that it has been outside in the soupy NY summer air. While I am absolutely thrilled at this turn of events (look back at some of my older posts, she was not doing so well) I am managing my expectations. I do not expect that when I bring her in after the seasons change, that she will continue on this righteous path. I know our time together is not long, I know she’s not meant for my dry winter house. I expect these now beautiful leaves will slowly crisp around the edges and drop. I’ll try to keep her hanging on as long as she can, maybe she’ll even make it to next spring. But I know she won’t look good while doing it. This is a fact that I have come to accept. I couldlet her go, but that’s another story. ———————————————————————- Acceptance and the management of expectations is the key ingredient to successful plant-parenting. Don’t expect “perfection,” ‘specially if you think you’re seeing it here on the gram. Some of those images have been altered, some of those plants are fresh from the nursery and haven’t had time to “adjust.” Plants are not perfect in nature.
