When we consider VOGUE's role of spotlighting noteworthy cultural moments through the lens of fashion, the rise of the metaverse certainly meets the mark. Love it or hate it, it is difficult to have a conversation today without falling down a rabbithole of Web 3.0 and NFT jargon. But what does this really mean for fashion beyond the gimmick? Digital art pioneer, Sølve Sundsbø, captured China's next generation of supermodels (Xie Chaoyu, Sherry Shi, Mao Xiaoxing, Chu Wong and Qun Ye) in a hybrid 3D-scanned and photographic story, blurring the lines between our human reality and our omnipresent virtual future.
