#TextileTuesdays: Working with your hands is meditative, but watching @siju_7 work is meditation in itself. Pure passion drives some, but when it aligns with purpose it’s alchemy. Something one definitely needs if they choose to work with Indigo- a temperamental dye. Ashok calls his Indigo Vat room Indigo temple. Everyone from the family checks on the vats and the kids of the family dye their own yarns in the room - I think they transfer some of their innocence and good juju to the water because I’ve never seen such deep blues. Only Italian Opera music plays in the temple and Ashok spends hours hand dyeing yarns and coaxing the vats to deliver their best- if you’re sensitive -you’ll feel the electricity. .
