"Our health-care system has some serious issues."
·
That’s according to Sevtap Savas, a cancer scientist in St. John’s.
·
In an opinion column for CBC, Savas outlines how people need to know how to find the services and improve accessibility to them to fight cancer.
·
She writes that 4,000 new patients are diagnosed with cancer each year in Newfoundland and Labrador.
·
As a cancer scientist, she wants to improve the well-being and life experiences of cancer patients and families.
·
Specifically, she says, there is a need to connect members of the public, cancer-affected families, health-care providers and leaders, and researchers in conversations on cancer.
