My sculpture ‘Metro Station Eekteweg’ suggests a high speed underground connection between the periphery and the center of The Netherlands. The work is made out of 1:1 scale replicas of metrostations from the countries biggest cities Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The project was presented in various places that all were hard to reach from those cities that form the country’s populous center. These photo’s are from a 2018 presentation in Haarle, Overijssel. I’m momentarily working in Vienna’s newest neighbourhood Seestadt, for @notgalerie and @dasweissehaus. Before the construction of this currently half-realised neighbourhood started, two (actual) U-bahn stops were already installed onto the then still empty land. At the moment, daily life in Seestadt still has many alienating aspects that remind me of my earlier projects 👀
