Last week I asked what you wanted to know most, and gut health was a popular answer. The truth is, our gut health is incredibly important. We know that our gut and our brain is directly connected, our gut houses most of our serotonin (neurotransmitter related to mood) so we have to optimize our gut health. If you’re having GI symptoms honestly the fastest and most cost effective in the long run is gut testing so you can target the exact imbalance. Just taking a probiotic isn’t always the answer because the probiotic could be feeding the wrong bacteria. It’s always better to know what is going on and then have a targeted plan to improve. If you’re interested in gut tests I have two suggestions, 1. You can use @viome (use code Kayla to save) or book a telemedicine appointment at my clinic, @lyvthewellnessspace for a gut test. This will be lead by a functional practitioner. If you can’t do a test right now, the easiest way to start is to stop doing things that compromise gut health, like eating processed foods, lots of sugar, and alcohol. Also, taking NSAIDs and lots of antibiotics is harmful to the gut. I hope this is helpful!
