Earlier this week, we were lucky to meet these two rescued Brown-throated three toed sloths 🦥 😍. These cuties are non releasable but have become quite the animal ambassadors for their kind. I got to hold the male which has the unique hair pattern on his back. The wildlife rehabilitator is not open to the general public and their sloths come to them if they have been found injured (power lines, car impact, fallen from trees) to hopefully recover and be rereleased. They relish hibiscus 🌺 flowers as a snack but sustain themselves virtually entirely on Cecropia leaves, shoots, and flowers. Picky eaters!
