🥳TODAY!!! 🙌🏾📷🖼Join us for the opening celebration of FACES OF HARLEM. Saturday, August 6, 2022, 12pm-3pm Morningside Park (112th St entrance) Food and refreshments provided by Melba's @melbasharlem 📍FACES OF HARLEM (FOH) is a public art initiative celebrating Harlem through the lens of 10 contemporary photographers. Inspired by the Harlem Renaissance and the neighborhood’s ever-changing diaspora, this outdoor exhibition invites residents and visitors alike to learn about Harlem while uplifting the experiences of local Black and Latinx communities. 📍For this second edition, Founder Sade Boyewa El @sadeelharlem and Co-Curator Heryte Tefery Tequame @her_eat continue the mission of inspiring meaningful conversations, fostering connection, and bridging some of the many visible gaps in the community through personal images of our Harlem neighbors. By documenting Harlemites in their intimate spaces, we want to give viewers a deeper look into family life, creativity, faith, relationships, and love within our community. This year, we're also bringing teen perspectives into the mix by inviting 3 youth photographers to share their work with you. 📷Exhibiting Photographers Khalik Allah @khalik_allah Sade Boyewa El @sadeelharlem Jessica Dunston @fbvisualss CJ Hart @hartbreakradio Nuria Mendoza @nuriamo22 Ashley Peña @ashleyypenaa Fela Raymond @felaraymond Xavier Scott Marshall @xavierscottmarshall Nolan Trowe @nolantrowe Joshua Woods @joshuawoods 📷Youth Photographers Natalie Cortes Fatou Diallo @that.tomboyyy Zeinah Shah 📍FACES OF HARLEM 2022 is made possible by support from Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Friends of Morningside Park, NYC Parks, Duggal Visual Solutions, Photoville, B&H, Fujifilm, LTI Lightside Photographic Services, Silvana, and Melba’s. 📍Go to our website facesofharlem.com if you would like to learn more about supporting our work and communities.
