HOW TO PAINT YOUR FRONT DOOR: 1: First things first, and most importantly, lightly scuff your door with a 120-220 grit sandpaper to ensure that everything is smooth & even. If you need to wipe it down first I recommend Dawn dish soap and water! 2: clean that baby right. If you didn’t before, you’ll need to especially now, CLEAN THAT DOOR. One easy way is to vacuum the dust off with your shop vac first & then wipe down with a damp rag (using Dawn + water) 3. Tape any areas you DONT WANT PAINT. Like around the windows (you can also use the razor blade method here that I love. Basically DONT tape and then scrape the window panes off with a blade after. Obviously this is only meant for glass surfaces), against opposite colored trim etcetera. 4. Prime if needed. This door was a brand new primed door, so we didn’t need to prime. If you have an existing door, PRIME. 5. After your primer has dried, GET TO PAINTING. Start with a brush & do the edges. Once you’ve don’t those & they are STILL WET, come back with a roller and roll the rest + blend those paint brushes lines. Wait between coats & apply a minimum of 2 coats. Peel the tape, clean the brushes & enjoy the view!! If you found this helpful, let me know below!
