Deva Cassel’s name may sound familiar and her appearance probably reminds you of that classic European beauty found in Baroque paintings, so it should come as no surprise that the 18-year-old model is the daughter to two of Hollywood’s most hailed actors, Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel. As the eldest child to acting royalty, she is no stranger to stardom and what comes with it, but the teenager is still figuring out who she is and what she wants to become. Speaking to Glass in our autumn issue, we ask her whether she would want to follow in her parents footsteps. “I think I would actually quite enjoy [acting] but I know it is a difficult profession that takes a lot of time to perfect and requires a lot of personal investment,” she explains. “I really appreciate the fact that my parents have never pushed me to act. They’ve always told me that I could be whatever I want when I grow up, which led me to be very open in diverse domains”. Though Cassel’s trajectory right now may not be film sets, she has begun to forge her own path in the fashion industry, already cultivating interest with her striking French-Italian looks. With a portfolio that is beginning to fill up with runway appearances and campaigns, Deva Cassel is ready to step out of the shadows and into her own spotlight.
