1. Weightlifting is one of the most underutilized antidepressants.
2. Fit people don’t always have six pack abs. We show up in all ages and shapes and sizes. We do however prioritize our health and chose our habits accordingly ❤️
3. Don’t wait until things are “perfect” to start a fitness program. The best time to get started was 10 years ago. The next best time is NOW. Trust me I know! ❤️
4. Being fit is like a superpower! It gives you:
✅ stronger bones
✅ better blood lipids
✅ better brain functioning
✅ better mood balance
✅ better hormones
✅ better appetite signaling
✅ better sleep quality
✅ a linger average life expectancy
✅ a better immune system
✅ less risk of cancers
5. Whoever you are, if you are trying to get fit, I hope that there are people around you encouraging you along the way, whether it’s strangers in the gym or a family member or friend. If you see someone working on their fitness, I hope you can find it in your heart to give them an encouraging smile and help them in any way. It can be an intimating place to be in at the start of your fitness journey. I’m forever grateful to the people at my first gym back in Cobourg, @goodlifefitness who always had a word of encouragement as I dragged my 200 lbs body through its gym routine. I hope I’m paying it forward.
There’s just no drawbacks to focusing on your fitness, especially in this day and age where life expectancy just keeps expanding.
If you want to be jumping out of bed excited to greet the day in your seventies and eighties, you had better make time to invest in your health.
Take it from me! And if I can do it, YOU CAN DO IT 💪
