🫧 World Animal Month 🫧
featuring Cuttlefish!
Despite their name, cuttlefish are not fish but invertebrates that are classified as a cephalopod (related to octopus and squid). They have a large brain to body size ratio, making them incredibly intelligent! They can count and have a great memory of what, where, and when they last ate. Cuttlefish are also masters of camouflage which helps them evade predators, mimic other animals to catch their prey, and communicate with other cuttlefish. They can change their colour, pattern, and texture to blend in with surroundings, even though they are colourblind!
